Monday – Computing – Minecraft coding

(We have set this before for people who have been isolating/shielding at home, so if you have already done this, please explore the code.org website as there’s lots of good stuff on there!)
Tuesday – Art
– Peter Thorpe Abstract Art work (Final edition).
– This is time for you to really concentrate and do a final edition of the Peter Thorpe Rocket Artwork that drafted the other day.
– As an extension, you could create your own abstract art work, using any picture you want.
– (A video of another teacher making theirs)
Wednesday – Topic – Ordering Planets from the sun.
The task is to create your own poster showing the planets of our solar system. Please order them based on distance to the sun (we usually rank from closest to the sun (Mercury) to furthest away (Neptune). A template is available at the bottom of this page, as well as a PowerPoint showing the planets (but might be just as easy to do your own research).
Please note, you can do this on the computer but if you do, please make your own, don’t just find one off the internet! 🙂
Thursday – PE Day – Because of the snow we have moved the PE day (please do some Friday if you like as well).
Please make sure that you are getting some form of exercise today. There are lots of suggestions on the main year 5 home learning page.
Miss Johnson and Mr Wilkinson recommend the THIS IS PE YouTube channel for lots of different activities you can try, but please do whatever you can.
Friday – READING DAY – Please do at least 30 minutes of reading, bonus points if you can make it to one hour.
