Fluency:
Mondays – The adult reads the text modelling fluent reading and noticing sounds/digraphs and tricky words. Discuss meaning/story.
Tuesday – Blend to read, the children work through the text blending and sight reading tricky words.
Wednesday – Children read again. We notice the punctuation and grammar. E.g. noticing the start and end of sentences (capital letters and full stops) *A common misconception is that the end of the line is the end of the sentence so we do lots of work noticing full stops and counting the sentences etc.
Thursday – Read again focusing on expression and developing fluency.
Friday – Final read in the aim of sight reading with fluency.

- For your creative activity this week we would like you to create a dinosaur fact file (see PDF below) – find out about your favourite dinosaur and present it any way you would like. You could make a book, make a poster, make a model of the dinosaur (junk modelling or play dough) or film a video about your dinosaur. You can be as creative as you like.
