Day 2

Day 2 is over and we are just about all intact.
A lot of tired bodies are on their way to bed right now (9:30pm); after 14 hours of activity and action they are ripe for some sleep.   They are ready to come home and have been worn out to the point of defeat.
Our day started with a 7:00am wake up call ready to start; I don’t think the children were ready but they were still incredibly enthusiastic.  A huge breakfast filled us with much required energy.  On the menu was a choice of sausages, eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and cereals.  Don’t mind if I do, thank you very much.
First challenge of the day was the big swing for Mountain and Crag groups, Forest and Ridge took on the Nightline and Wood challenged the trapeze.  We’d been overwhelmed by the support and teamwork shown by the children from day one and their great attitude was evident all through today which has been commented on by so many of the group leaders.  Activities like the crate challenge tested their balance and teamwork; the trapeze was a big test for everyone whether it was to reach the furthest distance or just to stand up at the top; the zip line pitted groups against each other in challenges; archery tested their accuracy; the Piranha Pool was an emotional rollercoaster for every group – some more than others!
The kitchen staff yet again provided us with some amazing food today and all bellies were stuffed to the brim.  Roll on breakfast tomorrow. More hash browns please.
The overwhelming message tonight, after our team challenge, has been to get some sleep.  Tomorrow is our final few activities before our return back to school.  I’m certain that they will be expecting some squeezy cuddles tomorrow.  Sleep well parents; your children have done you proud.
