Year Two Working from Home
A message from the teachers
Hello!
Not quite the week we were expecting, but we’ve been here before and we know we can work together to make sure we still have a fabulous week of learning despite being apart. 🙂
Our topic for this term is ‘The Victorians’ and we will also be learning about ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens as part of this. Below are all the lessons you will need for this week. Please complete as many as you can, but we fully understand this may be difficult and appreciate it may not always be possible. Please let us know if you have any problems and we’ll do whatever we can to help.
We can’t wait to be able to have you all back in school with us, until then stay safe and try to have fun at home.

Suggested timetable for home learning
We appreciate home learning is different for everyone depending on your family and work circumstances at the moment. Any work you can do is going to be beneficial for you children – we would prioritise reading and number facts. We have put together a proposed timetable if you have children in different year groups and are wanting to provide some structure to your day you can use it for guidance. However, please do regard it as guidance and do what works for you.
Maths
We use the White Rose Maths scheme in school. This scheme aims to develop the children’s deep understanding of each mathematical concept by following a structured, small steps approach. The worksheets you will need will be saved under the appropriate week and the children will need to watch the corresponding White Rose Maths video (link below) at the start of every lesson. We will also upload arithmetic fluency sheets for the children to complete each week for extra maths practice.
Please also continue to use Mathletics, TT Rockstars and Hit the Button weekly to build the children’s fluency.

Supporting Collective Worship at home
Whilst we are away from school, we wanted to make sure our pupils and families still have the opportunity to take part and worship together. There will be a weekly video from Mrs Swann, a member of our Holy Trinity Church family and additional links which can be used to support Collective Worship at home.
